RMT - REMOTE MUSIC TOOL
The idea of RMT was to extend and spread DSM's concept through the medium of a network system (internet)
to give people the possibility to become part of the ICA Live Art Space (ICA-LAS) by remote controlling parts of the
DSM soundscape and virtually interact with live performances.
By taking part the user also became a virtual part of the local social system of the residing artists-network.
RMT was especially developed for DSM by members of the sonance.art.network
(instrument and interface programming by Oliver Maklott, communication, stream and network programming by Simon Haefele).
+ RMT offered the opportunity of decentral controlling of various virtual instruments running at the ICA-LAS.
+ The users could download the controlling units which connected themselves to the instruments at the ICA-LAS
+ The users could upload their own sound material.
+ Via real-stream the users were able to follow the events taking place and the changes they made.
So everyone was able to become a part of DSM-Unit #4
Old and new media intertwine, enhance and manifest the collaborative character of the DSM project.
